CHUM FOOD SHELF open Mondays 11 am - 1 pm at Faith Lutheran, 51st Ave. E. and Glenwood St., Duluth. Volunteers are needed to assist clients. Contact the French River Lutheran office for details.

Order for Healing Service: Typically the third Sunday of the month with blood pressure checks provided during first twenty minutes of coffee fellowship time.

If public schools are closed due to weather conditions, so are church activities.

We continually collect toothbrushes and bandaids for the El Salvador Mission of Healing/Family Wellness Fair.  Please deposit them in the labeled box in the narthex.

CHUM Food Shelf has asked French River Lutheran to be the "Ramen Chicken Noodle Soup" church.  This means they'd like us to contribute 100 packages, or the monetary equivalent, per month to the food shelf.  Be sure to indicate "for CHUM-Ramen soup" on the memo line of a check or on a special giving envelope when donating.
CHUM also encourages the use of reusable bags (vs. plastic grocery bags) by those who donate non-perishables and those who receive them.  Bag donations may be left near the wicker baskets in the narthex.  Thank you!

An Adult Bible Study/Bring Your Own Bible (ABS/BYOB) group is starting this month! Meets Mondays at 7:00 PM at various locations. Contact the office for details.

Click on Pr. Mark's photo to hear sermons, entire services, or selected pieces of music!  Thanks to Ray Johnson for these features.

Oct 24 -Growing Young, Bethany Lutheran, Cromwell,MN. 9:30am-3:30 pm  Register with French River Lutheran office by Oct 15
Churches are both shrinking and aging as more young people disengage. Growing Young provides a strategy any church can use to reach young generations in a way that breathes life into the whole church.

Changing church culture is a process, not a one-day training! This event will give a brief overview of each of the six core commitments that are part of Growing Young. The real work happens once you leave and consider how you might implement the core commitments in your congregation. An opportunity to participate in an ongoing cohort group for support and accountability in implementing Growing Young in your congregation will be available after the training.

Congregations are encouraged to bring a team to this training: pastors, youth ministry leaders, council president and members, and other missional leaders! You may also want to familiarize yourself with the Growing Young resourcesprior to the event.
